REAL ESTATE IS MORE THAN A CONTRACT
When we first started working with this client, they weren’t ready to buy a house. They knew they had made some financial mistakes, they knew they had created a mess, and more than anything, they wanted to figure out how to make it better.
So we sat down, looked at where they were, where they wanted to be, and came up with a game plan to get from one to the other. There wasn’t a house to sell them. There wasn’t a contract to write. There wasn’t a commission waiting at the end of the week. There was just somebody who wanted to own a home and didn’t know how to get there.
About a year later, after working the plan, they went through the pre-approval process and qualified for just over $100,000. That was a huge improvement from where we started, but let’s face it, in today’s market $100,000 doesn’t buy much.
So we kept working.
We looked at what had improved, what still needed work, and what we could do to put them in a better position. At the two-year mark they went through the pre-approval process again, and this time they qualified for over $200,000.
Now, $200,000 still isn’t going to buy you the biggest, newest, fanciest house on the market, but it opens up some very real possibilities. More importantly, today that client is actively looking for their own piece of property.
And this is really what Tallant Real Estate is about.
When we first met them, we saw fear and confusion. Today we see confidence and joy.
We’re not interested in just being contract jockeys who show up when you’re ready to buy something, push some paperwork around, collect a commission and move on to the next person. We’re here for the long haul.
There are plenty of people in this world who will tell you that the house you can afford isn’t nice enough, isn’t big enough, or simply isn’t worth buying. Meanwhile, ten years can go by pretty damn fast. Ten years from now they may still be waiting for the perfect house at the perfect time, while you could have spent those same ten years paying down your own mortgage, building equity, improving what you own and potentially watching the value of that asset grow along the way.
Your first house doesn’t have to be your dream house. Sometimes it just needs to be the first step toward it.
So if you’re sitting there thinking homeownership just isn’t possible for you, come talk to us. And understand that we might look at everything and tell you that buying a house in six months isn’t realistic. We’re not going to blow smoke just to tell you what you want to hear.
But “not in six months” doesn’t necessarily mean “never.”
If there is a path, we’ll help you find it. We’ll develop a game plan with you, and then it’s up to you to work that plan. Maybe it takes six months. Maybe it takes two years. Maybe it takes longer.
We’re not measuring success by how quickly we can get your name on a contract.
We’re measuring success by whether we can eventually help you get home.
