Tell me you’re from Salt Lake City without telling me you’re from Salt Lake City. I’ll go first…

You know the difference between Sugar House charm, Millcreek convenience, Holladay quiet, and Cottonwood Heights canyon access, and yes, those neighborhood vibes absolutely matter when you’re buying or selling a home.

Salt Lake City real estate is never one-size-fits-all, and that’s exactly why we love helping people find the area that actually fits their life.

Salt Lake City dog parks and dog-friendly neighborhoods are a big deal for buyers who want a home that works for every member of the family, paws included. 🐾

Early summer is one of the best times to get outside with your dog, but it’s also the season to be extra careful with heat!

A few simple dog park tips:
💚 Go early in the morning or later in the evening
👉 Bring water and a collapsible bowl
😉 Check pavement before walking
💚 Choose grass and shaded areas when possible
👉 Watch for heavy panting, slowing down, or signs of overheating
😉 Know which parks allow off-leash time

Salt Lake City notes that dogs must generally be leashed unless they’re in designated off-leash areas, and Pioneer Park’s dog park is currently closed during renovations until winter 2026.

For a shady local option, Cottonwood Park is often loved for mature trees, grass, picnic tables, and Jordan River Parkway access.

Because honestly? Sometimes finding the right home also means finding the right walking route, dog park, patio, and neighborhood rhythm.

Looking for a new local food stop in Sugar House?
The Kolache Place is now open at 1751 S. 1100 East in Salt Lake City, bringing Texas-Czech flavor to one of our favorite Salt Lake neighborhoods.

Formerly known as Hruska’s Kolaches, this takeout-only spot has moved into the former Brownies! Brownies! Brownies! building. There’s also a patio outside with tables, which makes it a fun little grab-and-go stop when you’re out exploring Sugar House.

We especially love the details: the Hruska family is from Texas, so you’ll see sweet little Texas touches in the decor. And since “Hruska” means “pear” in Czech, the pear theme shows up throughout the space, including the logo. 🍐

This is exactly why we love sharing local business updates around Salt Lake City, Sugar House, Millcreek, Holladay, and surrounding areas. Local businesses help give every neighborhood its personality, and we’re always cheering for them. 💚

Have you been yet? What kolache flavor should we try first?

Decluttering before a move in Salt Lake City doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Start with one small area and make decisions before your loved ones have to.

We know this can be emotional. The boxes, the keepsakes, the “I might need this someday” items… they all carry stories.
But when you start early, you give your family a gift: less stress, fewer decisions, and a clearer path forward.

A simple place to begin:

Pick one drawer, closet, or shelf;
Make 3 piles: keep, donate, toss;
Label family items that matter;
Take photos of sentimental things you don’t need to physically keep;
Ask for help before it becomes urgent!.

This is especially important for homeowners thinking about downsizing, estate planning, probate property sales, or preparing a long-time family home for the market.

Mary & Julie help families across Salt Lake City, Holladay, Millcreek, Cottonwood Heights, Murray, Sandy, Draper, and surrounding areas make these transitions with care.

Thinking about downsizing or helping a parent prepare their home? Message us and let’s talk through the first step.

Salt Lake County’s 2026 dog patio list is a great example of how local restaurants are adapting to create more welcoming outdoor dining experiences.

This year, 49 businesses received approval to allow dogs on their patios under county health guidelines.
That approval comes with specific requirements, including a submitted safety plan, a $140 annual fee, outside patio access, regular cleaning, and clear rules for pet owners.

Dogs must remain on-leash, stay off tables and chairs, and avoid contact with dishes or utensils. ⚠️ It’s a small detail, but it adds to the kind of community lifestyle people love about living and dining in Salt Lake County!

Memorial Day is a time to pause, reflect, and honor the men and women who gave everything in service to our country.

For Team Creative Edge, this day is personal. Mary Olsen is not only a Realtor serving Salt Lake City and surrounding Utah communities, she is also a Marine Corps veteran who carries deep respect for service, sacrifice, and the families forever changed by that sacrifice.

Today, we remember with gratitude. 🇺🇸
