This was a fun one! I’ve known Nate & Heather since we went to Hope College together 25 years ago! Nate reached out in the Fall of 2023, and we’ve been searching for the perfect fit for their next home ever since. After 2.5 years of searching, we found a winner this Spring! Step 2 was to sell their home quickly and help them net as much as possible from the sale. As usual, it was a 5-day process. We had 6 offers and accepted a great one for more than $30k over list price!

A few thoughts…
On the Buy Side: Yep, it was 2.5 year journey, and it was great! They weren’t in a hurry and wanted to find a property that checked all their boxes. That’s not an abnormal timeline. Sometimes buyers are in a hurry (lease is ending, just moved to the area, etc…) and it’s a condensed, quick process. But often when a homeowner is pretty content with their current home and only moving for the “right one,” it takes time, and that’s ok! I just closed with another client after a 5-year search process. There is no “normal” timeline, expectation, or process. And you know what? I’ve loved connecting with Nate & Heather more over the past 2.5 years. It’s been awesome! The important takeaway here is that there’s no rush, pressure, or expectation on our end as a buyer’s agent. Buying a home is a big deal. Sometimes the process takes a long time. And that’s ok! You don’t ever need to apologize or feel bad about “wasting our time” if you tour several homes that you don’t write offers on. We’re here for the journey! So reach out, and let’s start journeying!
