If you’re scared to move here because you don’t know a single person, stop 🛑

So is everyone else who’s moving to coastal NC right now.

I say this to at least one person a week. They message me asking the same question:

*”Is it weird that I’m 40 and terrified of not making friends?”*

No. It’s not weird. It’s the most human thing in the world.

But here’s what nobody tells you before you move to this stretch of coast: You are not walking into a town of strangers who’ve had their same friend groups since high school. You’re walking into a wave of people from New York, New Jersey, Ohio, California who all made the same leap.

This town is full of people mid reinvention. That’s not isolating. That’s the opposite of isolating. It means everyone’s guard is down a little. Everyone’s looking and open.

You don’t need to know someone to belong here. You just need to show up.

Your out here enjoying everything coastal NC has to offer but craving Italian, don’t worry I got you 🇮🇹

Head to La Duna Paradiso in Wrightsville Beach to get your fix. And by the way they also have a pretty phenomenal patio to catch the sunset.

Their pastas are on point (so are their cocktails, Amalfi Spritz pairs perfectly with NC summer 😉) but trust me you’ve got to start things off with the Focaccia.

There something magical hidden along US-17 in Hampstead, NC

When you think of must go places a garden center doesn’t usually make the cut. But Pender Pines Garden Center isn’t your normal garden center!

Yes they have amazing plants, knowledgeable staff and a huge nursery space. But you can find that at lots of garden centers.

What you won’t expect is the beautiful landscaping, Koi fish pond, wooded walking trail or small zoo.

You won’t find that at Lowe’s!
