The Daily Crawl....and that's a wrap for 2026 morning surveys. 123 consecutive mornings monitored by 150+ volunteers, neatly organized by 14 section leaders.
149 nests recorded, 143 Loggerhead nests and 6 Green sea turtle nests. This is the 4th greatest recorded number of nests on Topsail Island since standardized reporting in 1995. (most: 187 in 1999)
Thank you Topsail Turtle Project volunteers for your generosity of time and effort. It takes a village, and we have a great one!
Now we finish hatching season, and thanks to Ms. Green, we will be on duty into November. We will keep you updated on the Night Shift.
