Built in 1885 as a Gilded Age summer retreat, Rock Gate is as well-known and celebrated in Washington as its architect: Ehrick Rossiter.
Rossiter’s generous rooms graced with restored carved butternut wood panels, walnut and fir floors, delicate turned spindles, alongside arched windows, porches, and turreted and gable roofs, define the Queen Anne shingle-style homes of the period. To see inside, look down below.

Bucktown, Gilmer County…This section of Gilmer County is located between Ellijay and Suches. Some say for many years you couldn’t get to Bucktown unless you rode a horse or mule.

Watched “It’s a Wonderful Life” with the kids last night. So good! Kids are old enough now to appreciate the story.

A few amazing real-estate lessons contained in this movie. The Savings and Loan helped people own rather than rent from Potter. AND everyone’s property value increased substantially as the nice, owner maintained houses went up and created an amazing community everyone wanted to live. Wow, nice work George, you really did live a wonderful life. So if you’re renting, reach out, we’ll help get you out from under Potter’s rental and into a house you own AND enjoy the increases in value like the folks in Bedford Falls.
