“Through the darkness the hardest of times her light shines bright- we are reminded of all the miracles in our life as we light candles for 8 nights”
Behind these smiles is sadness, strength, courage, and resilience. The 5th night of Chanukah marked the 1 year passing of my beloved Grandma Sarah on the English Calendar. When I look back at this past year without her I am saddened to think of what an important matriarch we and the world lost. A Holocaust survivor and a woman with so much wisdom and love to share! Her strength was kindness, charity, and most of all making sure her children and grandchildren were raised with Good values. When I moved down here a year ago I knew my Grandma was in so much pain and it was going to soon be time to let go. I was able to be with her during her last days beside her and I will forever be grateful for that opportunity. I am reminded on Chanukah of her absence but also of all the miracles we have. Life has its ups and downs and it is how we push through the down times that help us grow into stronger and wiser individuals. If I learned anything from my dearest Grandma Sarah it is life is unpredictable, often challenging, but if we respect the process and push through the light waiting for us is bigger and brighter than we could have ever expected. Happy Chanukah Grandma I am feeling your light stronger than ever!!! ❤️
