In 1972 James William Guercio constructed Caribou Ranch, a one-of-a-kind recording studio that captured the distinct spirit of the American West. The long list of artists who recorded at Caribou Ranch in the 1970s and 1980s reads like a who’s who of legendary music history, with names such as Elton John, Dan Fogelberg, Chicago, the Beach Boys, Joe Walsh, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Earth, Wind & Fire.

The founder of Caribou Ranch, Chicago, played with Dick Clark when he was 17 & 18. He was playing with Frank Zappa when he was putting together Mother's of Invention played bulley bulley every night. Blood Sweat came out of his work. Blood Sweat & Tears won album of the year in 1969.

Songs "Don't you Care" and "Kind of A Drag?" Al cooper put Blood Sweat and Tears and asked Jim to help him. The legend of Caribou Ranch began resulting in many famous groups recording there.
