Had just gotten married and was building a new life in America.
That morning, after my walk on Hollywood Beach, I turned on the TV and saw the first tower on fire. Then the second plane. Then the Pentagon.
Confused and alone, I called my only friend at the time, Nil Costa. She confirmed: I wasn’t crazy. It was really happening.
The world changed that day.
25 years later, I’m still here—more Americanized, but still very much Brazilian. 🇧🇷🇺🇸
Grateful for the life I’ve built.
Hoping and praying we never experience a day like that again.

Em 2001, eu tinha acabado de me casar e estava começando uma nova vida na América.
Naquela manhã, depois da minha caminhada na Hollywood Beach, liguei a TV e vi a primeira torre em chamas. Depois, o segundo avião. E então, o Pentágono.
Confusa e sozinha, liguei para minha única amiga na época, Nil Costa. Ela confirmou: eu não estava louca. Aquilo estava realmente acontecendo.
O mundo mudou naquele dia.
25 anos depois, continuo aqui — mais americana, mas ainda muito brasileira. 🇧🇷🇺🇸
