More Than Medicine 🐴🤍
Peter and Kip have become so much more than horses to me.
What started as a new chapter has become part of my own healing process. They’ve taught me that healing doesn’t always happen through words, medicine, or even understanding exactly what we’re working through.
Sometimes healing happens quietly.
It happens while grooming a horse and focusing on nothing but the brush in your hand. It happens in the barn, where the noise of everything else seems to disappear. It happens while learning to ride, making mistakes, building confidence, and discovering that trust can’t be rushed.
Peter has given me the opportunity to grow as a rider, compete, learn, and experience the joy of accomplishing things I never imagined I would be doing at this point in my life.
Kip has brought a different journey, reminding me that relationships take patience. Every small moment of trust matters.
And somewhere along the way, while I thought I was learning how to care for them, I realized how much they were caring for me.
There is something extraordinary about the relationship between horses and people. They don’t care about your title, your responsibilities, your successes, or what kind of day you’ve had. They meet you exactly where you are.
The barn has become one of my happy places. No noise. No expectations. Just details, movement, connection, and two beautiful animals who have taught me the value of being completely present.
Maybe that’s part of healing too.
Not fixing everything.
Just finding the places where your mind becomes quiet, your heart feels full, and you remember how good it feels simply to be there.
Peter & Kip. Two horses. Two very different relationships. And a whole lot of healing. 🤎🐴
