A showing starts before we open the front door.

I am already looking at how the home sits on the lot, the walk from the parking area, the stairs, the entry, and how the property connects to the surrounding homes and trees.

None of those details is automatically good or bad. The question is whether they work for the way you plan to use the home, especially once winter arrives.

That is why I like to slow down on the approach instead of rushing straight inside.

Dollar Point sits right between Tahoe City and Carnelian Bay, and owning here comes with more than a house. Residents get a private beach, a community pool, and tennis courts, plus neighbors who know each other. Most of it is minutes from town.

The homes run from small cabins in the trees to full lakeview places, so there is more than one way in. The amenities are the draw. You can renovate a kitchen, but you cannot add a private beach.
