As a people, we have come through a lot in the last few years (COVID, civil unrest, political angst, etc.) Simultaneously, my little Ohana was going through unspeakable difficulty and loss. In that experience, something in my gut told me that I needed to do something to contribute to healing and positive growth in the World. And that while I may not make much of a difference, if millions of people join the cause, we change the World.
From that, the concept of "The Aloha Virus" was born amongst discussions with me and my life-saving friend, Chuck Miller.
Some of you have been invited to like the page. I hope you'll join us in spirit and actions. Here's the thought:
In the Hawaiian language, "Aloha" is an expression used in modern times to greet and convey love, compassion, mercy, peace, kindness, and even gratitude.
Scholars of ʻOlelo Hawaii (the Hawaiian Language) explain the terms derivation differently, and not all agree.
With great reverence, the advocates of "the Aloha Virus" CHOOSE it to mean that we "share breath" or "share life." We commit to be aware what we breathe a little bit of ourselves into every encounter we have with others; be they family, friends, strangers, etc.
We commit to create a ripple effect of compassion, mercy, gratitude, peace and kindness across the World. Please join us in spreading "the Aloha Virus."
