The Last Love Letter was sweet and sad all at once, with moments that made me laugh scattered throughout. I blew through it in a day.
Non-fiction books feel like required-reading to me, but Outlive was a useful gift from a client and I’ll make some changes because of it. The biggest takeaway for me: keep running.

Our experience: A 15 month wait for a permit to remodel the house and 13 months for a simple pool remodel.
In my job, I see tons of unpermitted additions and renovations, and this is why.

Construction industry professionals say it’s taking longer than ever to get a permit in Honolulu. The delays disrupt lives and put a drag on the economy.
