Congratulations to the Hawai‘i REALTORS® 2023 Fair Housing Keiki Art Contest winners! The judges had a tough time narrowing it down from the many amazing entries they received this year. First-place winners in each category (Grades K-4 and Grades 5-8) receive $250, second place $150, and third place $75. Artwork of the first-place winners will be featured in a printed 2024 Hawai‘i REALTORS® calendar.

There are hundreds of “giving circles” throughout the USA and Canada. Members donate $100/quarter to a local nonprofit and also have the opportunity to present a favorite organization to the giving circle for consideration.

I hope you can join our amazing and generous group of women this Saturday.

Lower mortgage rates can’t come soon enough for future homebuyers waiting for the right moment to jump into the market.

Mortgage demand rose 2.8% last week, compared with the previous week, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association's seasonally adjusted index. That was the second straight week of gains.

Fannie Mae's forecast suggests that 30-year mortgage rates will fall into the 6.7% to 7.1% range in 2024, while NAR believes rates will stick closer to 6%.

While rates may not drop back down to the historic rates we saw in the past few years, refinancing is an option down the road. Buy now, refinance later, to avoid higher home prices; when rates drop, there will be more buyer competition and that’s when buyers can refinance their higher rate.

Not too often I am speechless…what a fun find this morning. In all my years of puka shell picking, being at the beach, camping, swimming, this is my first glass float find!
Glass floats were first made in 1842 by a Norwegian glass company, Hadeland Glassverk. Japan began manufacturing glass floats in 1910 and did so for 60 years. This float, if authentic, is well over 50 years old, like me! 🤗
