🎨 Calling all Hawai‘i students in grades K-8! There’s still time to enter the 2026 Hawai‘i REALTORS® Fair Housing Keiki Art Contest. Deadline to submit entries is Oct. 31, 2026. This year’s theme is “Open Homes, Bright Futures,” and we encourage students ─ through their artwork ─ to showcase how a home can be the beginning of a dream, a new opportunity, and a brighter future, where fair housing creates opportunities for people and families throughout Hawai‘i. Fair housing helps ensure that people have a fair chance to find a home where they can live, grow, learn, and thrive.

This annual art contest, which commemorates the Fair Housing Act, is free and open to all Hawai‘i students from grades K-8, with prizes given in two age categories: grades K-4 and grades 5-8.

* 1st Place: $250 (plus artwork featured on a printed 2027 Hawai‘i REALTORS® calendar)
* 2nd Place: $150
* 3rd Place: $75

Grants up to $1,000 are available for Hawai‘i residents who were impacted by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Lala and Hurricane Lowell. Hawai‘i REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of Hawai‘i REALTORS®, will distribute the funds totaling $200,000, provided by the REALTORS® Relief Foundation, which offers housing-related assistance to disaster-impacted communities through the generosity of REALTORS®, state and local associations, and industry partners.

Applications from Hawai‘i homeowners and renters affected by the storms are being accepted through November 4, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis. For information including eligibility, required documentation, and the application, go to hawaiirealtors.com/disasterrelief

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Kristin Moreland as First Vice President and Trey Livingston as Secretary for 2027. REALTOR® Safety Tip: Are your passwords strong enough to deter hackers online? Create smart passwords by using more than six characters and incorporating capital letters, numbers and symbols.

REALTOR® Safety Tip: Don’t share your home address with clients or on any advertisements. Giving out too much personal information can make you a target. Instead, use your office address for business purposes.

REALTOR® Safety Tip: Choose flight over fight. While every real estate agent should take a basic self-defense course, escaping from immediate danger and calling for help should be the primary goal in any threatening situation.
