Yes… people are STILL buying leasehold properties in Hawaiʻi.

But why? 👀

For these buyers, it was about getting a place in Hawaiʻi at a lower purchase price without needing to own it forever.

With about 17 years left on the lease, it fit their timeline. This property also allowed residential and commercial use, giving them the flexibility to live AND run their business from the space.

Leasehold isn’t for everyone, but with the right goals and plan, it can make sense.

But a higher market rate doesn’t automatically mean you’re stuck with it.

Depending on the property and offer, we may be able to negotiate seller credits that can potentially be used toward buying down your interest rate.

Higher rates can also mean fewer competing buyers on certain homes and that can create more room to negotiate.
