I arrived to photograph a home this morning and introduced myself to the owner. His daughter stepped right over and told me her name is Olivia. I said my name is Hal. Then she told me she is five, held up her fingers, then counted them to show me how many years in fingers.

I then took a tour of the inside of the home with her mother, and Olivia was right there with us the whole way. After talking about the house and finishing the tour, Olivia’s mother said they were going to leave while I took photos and to text her when I finished.

They started for the door but Olivia stopped and turned to me, all of 3 feet tall and five fingers old and said, “Please don’t steal my bed when we’re gone. I really love my bed.” I assured her I wouldn’t, as did her mother.

Before I left I texted so they would know I was finished, and included a photo of Olivia’s bed and said to let Olivia know her bed is still there. The bed is only about 16” high.
