Subject: Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
As you are aware, concerns about Coronavirus, also known as “COVID-19”, are increasing throughout the U.S. We are sending this communication to all residents in all of our communities. We are relying on information primarily from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at www.cdc.gov.
What is the Novel Coronavirus, symptoms, and how it spreads?
Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses, some that cause illness in people and others that cause illness in animals. Coronaviruses include the seasonal flu and common cold.
Reported symptoms can include a fever, cough, or shortness of breath and may appear in as few as two to fourteen days following exposure. If you develop cold or flu-like symptoms, it is recommended to call your local healthcare provider.
For Our Residents:
• We are reviewing and updating cleaning procedures at all apartment buildings.
• We are sourcing and ordering sanitizing products, some of which are on back order.
• We are reviewing non-urgent maintenance work, that involves entry into dwelling units.
• We are developing contingency plans, if managers are out ill for extended periods.
• We are sourcing a qualified, third-party resource, which can assist in a deep sanitizing of a building on short notice, if required.
• We are communicating CDC information to staff members who service our buildings about good sanitizing habits.
Finally, we ask for your cooperation as we continue to plan and adjust our services and practices to protect our residents.
We recommend that you follow the CDC’s guidelines if you expect that you have contracted COVID-19 and contact your medical provider for advisement. We ask that confirmed cases of COVID-19 be reported to your Site Managers, so that we may respond appropriately to protect our residents.
Sincerely,
Robert B. Carlson
