Susie’s Sunday Morning BEST Egg Bake Oh my goodness! Today’s egg bake to wrap up our family weekend was simply my best one ever! I must share. Super easy. Make ahead…Then bake and impress! Wow.
Here’s Whatcha need:
18 farm fresh eggs the fresher the better I used A mix of organic from store and Walden farm delivery 🚚 1 quart 1% milk 1 loaf cubed rustic peasant bread( Price Chopper brand) 1 bunch chopped scallions 2 8oz bags Cabot shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 roll Jimmy Dean regular style breakfast sausage cooked, crumbles and fat drained, 3 TBSP grainy Dijon mustard, 1/2 stick Kate’s unsalted butter. Salt ‘n pepper to taste.
Here’s What’cha Do:
Grease a 9X13 Pyrex Baking dish with butter. Lay cubed bread in pan. Crack eggs and Whisk with milk. Mix sausage with mustard and scallions. Spoon over bread. Lay 1/2 cheese on top of bread. Dot with 1/2 stick of butter. Pour egg mixture on top of bread and sausage. Add remaining cheese and butter dots. Cover with Saran leave overnight for one ( I did 2!) nights and bake next morning at 375 degrees for an hour or so til not jiggly in middle. Happy Sunday! Served great with fruit salad and bagels.
