“I want to take a moment to thank all of you for your incredibly generous donation of overnight bags to Twin Pines. Your kindness has directly impacted children and families who may be going through some of the hardest moments of their lives.

As you leave here and begin the next chapter of your lives, I hope you always remember this: you may not always realize the impact you have on someone, but kindness is rarely forgotten.

Keep working hard, keep showing up for others, and never underestimate what you are capable of doing for your community.

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank one of our incredible community partners, Jordan Fullem, for her continued support of Twin Pines Family Services and the families we serve. She has given her time to support local families and make a difference for children in need.

Many misconceptions surround foster care. One Myth is that you must own your own home to qualify to be a foster parent. Foster parents can own their own home, but it is not a requirement. Current and previous foster families have lived in many different kinds of homes and apartments.

Nearly 3 years ago, our family started fostering. We knew we had so much love to give, and we wanted to share that love with children who needed it most.

I’ll never forget our very first placement call. Two little boys, an infant and a toddler. We were so excited to meet them, but nothing could have prepared us for the moment they arrived at our home. We were truly humbled by how the little things we had always taken for granted were so precious to these two tiny children.

Fast forward a few years, and we were asked to take in a short-term placement for just the weekend until a family member could become available. We went to the NICU and met the sweetest baby girl. She had not a single visitor in the hospital. Right away, we connected, but we were prepared for her to leave our home in just a few short days.

Then Monday came, and we were asked if she could stay. Of course, we said yes! Now, more than two years later, she is growing, thriving, and has become the missing piece we never knew we needed.

Since then, we’ve fostered nearly 20 children. Some have reunified with their families, some have gone on to other forever families, and some are still with us.

We went into fostering thinking about how much of a difference we could make in the lives of these children. In return, we’ve realized just how much of a difference they have made in ours.

Foster care has taught us so many things, but most importantly, it has shown us just how truly blessed we are. It has changed our perspective, opened our hearts, and reminded us that sometimes the greatest blessings come in the smallest packages.

We are forever grateful for every child who has been part of our story.
