JUST MY OPINION, but after the initial shock to the market, nothing will change. You’ll start seeing more and more situations where the buyer's commission is wrapped into the loan in the event that the sellers don’t pay or don't pay in full... effectively raising the buyer’s monthly payment very minimally (less than $100 in most cases). If you ask me, that's a small price to pay to not have the person you're negotiating against writing up the offer on your home purchase while you have no one looking out for your interests or guiding you through the process.
The settlement with the Realtors' association ended guaranteed commissions but could impose new costs on buyers already struggling to break into the market.
