🇺🇸 On This Day: Arkansas Became a State.

On June 15, 1836, Arkansas officially became the 25th state admitted to the United States.
Before statehood, Arkansas was part of the Arkansas Territory, which was established in 1819. Arkansas' first governor, James Sevier Conway, took office later that year as the state began its journey from frontier territory to the Natural State we know today.
Today marks Arkansas' 190th anniversary of statehood.
