Project HOMES has received funding for another 5 years to study the efficacy of recovery homes with opioid participants pursuing medication assisted recovery!

We have just completed year 4 and entering into year 5 of Project HOMES (Housing for Opioid MAR Expanded Services). While I cannot publish my internal statistics, I can say that the success rates we are seeing are nearly identical to the success rates our non-MAR residents enjoyed. The use of medications for opioid addiction is an effective recovery modality. Boom.

House Of Extra Measures. THOEM promotes and advances recovery and quality housing for recovering residents and develops standards that further advance recovery. The mission is to provide safe, structured, emotionally and spiritually nourishing Recovery Residences for people in early recovery to gain solid foundations for a lifetime of peace and joy. The Houses of Extra Measures Men and Women are providing two male and two female recovery homes to UTHealth School of Public Health for a unique research study for persons engaged in Medication Assisted Treatment (new language: Medication Assisted Recovery). All houses are certified to NARR quality standards and have a trained onsite staff. The Houses of Extra Measures recovery residences are a key component in the continuum of care model of recovery addressing opioid use and/or co-occurring disorders that provide an array of services such as health promotion, life skills, communication skills, goals coaching and mentoring. We are back on the search for a full time live-in female house manager for our 2nd women's MAT recovery home for the UTHealth study. You do not need to be on MAT to be on staff, but must be open minded to it and be willing to take trainings (RSPS, MARS, CMA, Narcan, Recovery Residence Manager training). Costs for trainings and certifications are covered by us. Position includes good salary, room & board in a nice recovery home, a company cell phone and a tank of gas each month.
