Buying a home can seem like a daunting process, especially for first-time homebuyers. However, with the right preparation and knowledge, the home buying process can be much easier than many people think. 🏡
The first step in the home buying process is to determine your budget. This involves looking at your income, expenses, debt, and savings to determine how much you can afford to spend on a home. There are plenty of online calculators available to help you with this process, feel free to ask which is my favorite!!!
Next, you'll want to get pre-approved for a mortgage. This involves submitting your financial information to a lender, who will then determine how much they are willing to lend you. Being pre-approved for a mortgage can give you an advantage when it comes to making an offer on a home.
Once you've determined your budget and obtained pre-approval for a mortgage, the fun part begins – house hunting! You can start by browsing listings online and working with a real estate agent who can help you find homes that fit your criteria. I know a pretty cool one if you need one 😎
Once you've found a home you're interested in, you'll want to make an offer. Your real estate agent can help you with this process, which involves submitting a written offer to the seller. The seller can either accept, reject, or counter your offer.
Assuming your offer is accepted, the next step is to get a home inspection. This involves hiring a professional to inspect the home for any issues that may need to be addressed before closing.
Before Closing, the lender will send an appraiser out to the property to determine the value of the home. The appraisers job is to make sure the Lender isn't approving a loan for more than the fair market value of the property, but it also helps insure that YOU are aren't purchasing for more than what the home is worth. ✅
