Angie has officially been selected as one of 2026 HAR YPN’s 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate, recognizing some of the young professionals making an impact in Houston real estate.

And when you look at what Angie has accomplished, this recognition makes perfect sense.

Our Q2 Top 10 Agents earned their seats at the table, and we made sure to celebrate them properly at Mexican Sugar (Mexican Sugar).

Renting vs. owning. Which one is really helping you build your future? 🤔

With our latest Surge Realty billboard putting the conversation front and center, I sat down with some of our top agents, Angie Aguilar, Jenny Guerra, Ashley DeLeon and Karla Arias, to talk about what people should consider when deciding whether to continue leasing or start preparing for homeownership.

Renting can absolutely make sense depending on where you are in life. But if homeownership is one of your goals, don’t assume you’re not ready just because you haven’t talked to anyone yet.

How much do you actually need to put down?
What would your monthly payment look like?
Are there programs that could help with closing costs or your down payment?

July belonged to Lorena Cousin (Lorena Cousin | Houston Realtor®️) and Angie Aguilar (Angie Aguilar)! Both crossed $1 MILLION in sales volume for the month, earning their spot as our July Million Dollar Producers!

Agents, don’t be intimidated walking into a builder’s sales office. You’re not the competition.

I sat down with my agent Maia Smith (Maia Smith, The Realtor 🏡), who came into real estate with experience working on the builder side of new construction. She shared some insight I think more agents need to hear.

The builder sales counselor has a job to do. The real estate agent has a job to do. But when both sides communicate, respect each other’s role and actually work together, everybody can win.

The sales counselor knows the builder, inventory, incentives and community.

The agent knows their client, their goals, their concerns and what they need throughout the transaction.

That relationship can be powerful.

So if you’re an agent who feels a little uncomfortable walking into a model home or talking to a builder rep, don’t. Introduce yourself. Ask questions. Build the relationship.

New construction is a relationship business too.

Maia has seen it from both sides, so I had to get her perspective.

Support is easy to talk about. Actual support is something you experience.

Robert C Villanueva sat down with Hannah Ramirez (Hannah Ramirez | Houston Realtor) and asked her what agents can expect, and I love that she brought up the importance of having real support behind you. Shout out to Jenny L. Guerra
