While Polly Plaques is determined to destroy our cherished memories, future drugs including Leqembi® and others are planning to protect the world around us. Even though Brigid, our intrepid heroine is fading away, she has maintained her eternal form to protect present and future victims of Alzheimer's disease.

In the hidden crevices and shadowy recesses of ancient cliffs where Echo dwelled, her voice resonats softly among the rocks and rivers. She was born of myth and magic, her existence intertwined with the very essence of nature itself. Yet, despite the beauty of her secluded domain, Echo's heart yearned for something more. From the depths of her rocky abode, Echo would listen intently to the whispers of the winds that caused a longing to behold the splendor of the great oceans that danced under the moon's gentle gaze.

Through winding valleys and dense forests, Echo journeyed, her heart beating with anticipation with each step she took. Finally, as the horizon stretched endlessly before her, she beheld the shimmering expanse of the ocean, its waves crashing against the rugged coastline with a mesmerizing rhythm. With a fearless resolve, Echo plunged into the waters, her voice merging with the symphony of the ocean's song. The Power of Unfaded Memories

Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative condition characterized by progressive cognitive decline, memory loss, and eventually, the loss of ability to carry out daily tasks. Faded memories in Alzheimer's disease occur due to the damage and deterioration of brain cells, particularly in areas associated with memory formation and retention.

In Alzheimer's disease, while there is a progressive loss of memory and cognitive function, some memories may remain relatively intact, often referred to as "unfaded memories."

Since emotional memories often have a deeper imprint in the brain, individuals with Alzheimer's may retain vivid recollections of important life events, relationships, or emotionally charged experiences, even as other memories fade.

As a "Born on the Island" Galvestonian, I can easily recall the seawall, the beaches of packed sand, palm trees, the smell of salt air, and the granite piers, and they are all very clear.
