Dear Clear Creek Landing Resident(s):
Anticipating low temperatures in the upcoming days, we kindly request your cooperation in taking proactive measures to prevent potential pipe freezes and the consequent risk of flooding in your apartment home.
Please follow these guidelines whenever temperatures drop unusually low:
· Ensure that all water faucets in your apartment home are left open, allowing a very thin trickle of water to flow through both hot and cold-water lines. Allow this trickle to continue throughout the night. (If you are leaving town, please refrain from leaving the water running.)
· If you plan to be away from your apartment home for more than 48 hours, notify the office so that periodic checks can be conducted to ensure there are no frozen or burst pipes. Keep all drains open and avoid leaving items in sinks that may cause clogs and potential flooding.
· Leave cabinet doors beneath sinks and lavatories open to maintain ventilation and allow warm air to reach the water pipes.
· When not at home, keep bathroom doors open to facilitate air circulation.
· Immediately inform the office if you turn on a faucet and no water comes out, as this may indicate frozen pipes in your building. Turn the faucet off and report any water leaking from the foundation, which could signify a leak in an occupied apartment.
· Keep the heat set to "Auto" with the thermostat at no less than 65 degrees, especially if you will be absent for more than 24 hours.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation. In the event of a pipe break or leak, please contact the management office promptly. Your immediate reporting is crucial for swift resolution.
Sincerely,
Clear Creek Landing
