Before I became a flight attendant and before Spirit Airlines uniforms were known as the “bumblebees,” and our uniforms were red & blue, I started my aviation career at Spirit Airlines as a ticket and gate agent.

Being a former aviator, something like this feels unbelievable…almost unreal. I have friends who have worked there and friends who are still there, and I can’t even begin to imagine what this moment feels like for them. One day you’re reporting for work like normal, and the next, you’re faced with the reality that everything you knew…your routine, your career, your sense of stability, is suddenly gone.

Aviation isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle. It becomes a part of who you are. So to see an entire airline impacted like this is heartbreaking. It’s shocking. It’s something you never think will actually happen… until it does.

My heart is with every Spirit Airlines employee affected by this. I’m praying for strength, for peace, and for new doors to open quickly. I truly hope each and every one of you finds your way back into the skies and continues the career you’ve built.

Praying that we don’t continue to see moments like this across the industry. 🙏🏽✈️💙💛
