💭 Do You Really Need a Guest Room? 💼

We were just talking about this on Easter with my parents. So we are buying a new house ourselves and we were going back and forth on whether we really need that extra guest room. With the rise of flex spaces and dedicated home offices, the need for a traditional guest room just to have extra space may be dwindling.

Consider this: The average price per square foot in the Houston market is $180, and the average bedroom is 120 square feet. If you don't have overnight guests often and really don't need that extra room, that's $21,600 you may not have to spend. Because, let's face it... there's an obvious price gap between 3 to 4 and 4 to 5 bedrooms.

My dad reminded me that we never had a guest room growing up, and it was never really an issue. Of course, he joked that he preferred it that way (he wasn't joking!), but his point was that it's possible.

Now, while I want you to absolutely love where you live, I also want you to feel financially comfortable in your home. Did you know that 70% of couples argue about money? Wouldn't it be nice if you could reduce the mortgage payment a bit and have (hopefully) one less thing to argue about at night?
