The current amount of home inventory seems to be creeping upwards slowly but surely. The reason for this? Interest rates.

Proof of this would be seeing higher priced homes selling at record levels during covid, due to such great rates that haven't been seen in ages. Jerome Powell (The Federal Reserve Chairman ) said in June 'The U.S. central bank will not raise interest rates from rock-bottom levels too quickly due to recent inflation fears, reiterating policymakers' commitment to a "broad and inclusive" job-market recovery. There are many things that contribute to people wanting buy a home more than ever with people working from home but money seems to always be the greatest motivator buy.

Will inventory continue to increase in Houston if interest rates increase for housing or will even less sellers be wanting to sell with possibly cheaper home values with a decrease in demand? Only time will tell!
