Originally born in New Albany, Mississippi, and raised in Holly Springs, Demarcus has been a dedicated part of the apartment industry for over 4 years—all of which he has spent growing and thriving with Parawest!
As a valued team member, Demarcus brings passion, reliability, and a positive attitude to everything he does. When he's not hard at work, you can find him enjoying some of his favorite pastimes: listening to music, working on his Oldsmobile, or enjoying outdoor nature activities, especially fishing.
Fun Fact: Demarcus says he is a dedicated runner and “gets his speed from his dad”—clearly, excellence runs in the family!

Please join us in celebrating Selene Govea Magana as this month’s Spotlight of Excellence! Her dedication, vibrant personality, and exceptional work ethic have truly stood out, and we are proud to recognize her achievements.
Selene was born in Baja California Sur, Mexico and has called Houston, Texas home since 2002. Though she’s relatively new to the apartment industry with just over a year and four months of experience, she’s already making a big impact! Selene joined the Parawest family as a Leasing Consultant in February 2024, and has consistently impressed her team with her energy, professionalism, and positive attitude.
Outside of work, Selene is all about family and fun. She loves spending quality time with her loved ones—especially her energetic 8-year-old son—doing everything from going to the movies and shopping to hitting Top Golf. A self-proclaimed foodie, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and flavors.
Fun Fact Alert! In 2021, Selene started her own Michelada business, and now she’s taking things to the next level. This summer, she’ll be reopening her food trailer on weekends, serving up her favorite—seafood—and of course, her signature Micheladas. We love seeing her passion for entrepreneurship and drive for success both on and off the clock! She is also a certified dental assistant.

We are happy to announce that Christian Alvarado has been selected as the recipient of Parawest’s Spotlight of Excellence Award! Christian, who has been with Parawest for nearly a year, has truly shined in his role as Team Leader for the Junior Marketing team at our corporate office.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Christian’s family roots hail from El Salvador. His energetic and vibrant personality brings joy to those around him. Whether it’s through his sense of humor or his passion for life, Christian’s positive attitude is contagious and elevates the entire team.
Outside of work, Christian has a wide range of interests that keep him engaged and inspired. He is an avid reader, devouring 1-2 books a week, and is always on the lookout for new bookstores to explore across Houston. His love of books extends into light novels, showcasing his diverse literary tastes. When he's not reading, you can find Christian at concerts or playing basketball, staying active and connected to his community.
A fun fact: Christian is ranked in the top 500 players of Clash Royale in the United States—quite the impressive feat for any gamer! And if you think that’s all, think again. Christian has an incredible green thumb and once cultivated an entire acre of crops, including banana trees, beans, cucumbers, and squash. His passion for gardening speaks to his dedication and ability to nurture growth—whether in the ground or in his career.

It is with great pleasure that we announce Patricia Said as the recipient of this month’s Parawest Spotlight of Excellence Award. Patricia has been an invaluable part of the Parawest Management team for an incredible 16 years, where she has consistently demonstrated her dedication and excellence as a housekeeper.
Born in Mexico as the 11th child in a large family of four sisters and six brothers, Patricia’s hardworking nature and strong family values have shaped her approach to life and work. Throughout her time with Parawest, she has become a beloved member of the team, currently serving at Plantation at Quail Valley with exceptional care and attention to detail.
Patricia is not only dedicated to her role but also enjoys spending her free time watching classic black-and-white films and 1980s movies, which reflect her love for timeless entertainment. She is also an avid cook and treasures moments spent with her two grandchildren, whom she adores.

Laura’s journey with Parawest is a testament to hard work, dedication, and growth. Originally from Mexico, Laura moved to the United States with her family at the age of 9, and since then, she has made this country her second home. Over the past ten years in the apartment industry, Laura has been an invaluable member of the Parawest team, starting her career as a receptionist and steadily advancing to her current position as Senior Executive Administrative Assistant.
Her professional journey is a true success story. Along the way, Laura achieved her associate’s degree, Human Resources certification, and has taken on significant responsibilities, including managing payroll for the company. Her commitment to excellence and continuous growth has been an inspiration to all.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Laura is a woman of many passions. We are thrilled to spotlight Cristina Loya as this month's Parawest Spotlight of Excellence! Cristina, born in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, but a proud resident of Brownsville, Texas for her entire life, has truly made her mark in the apartment industry for 18 years. As a manager for Parawest at both the La Residencia and Bonaventure communities, Cristina has been a driving force as a community manager for 2 years. Cristina’s leadership has been nothing short of remarkable, significantly increasing occupancy at her communities by 17% in less than four months. Her dedication and expertise are truly commendable. Outside of work, Cristina treasures spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids, which she considers the highlight of her life. She delights in being at home, savoring a great BBQ, watching movies, and attending the theater. Her involvement in church activities reflects her deep commitment to her community and personal values. Cristina’s love for dining out, particularly for tacos, pizza, and a good steak, is matched only by her passion for home decor. Jayden Stewart, a lifelong resident of Phoenix, Arizona, has been awarded the prestigious Parawest Spotlight of Excellence in recognition of her outstanding contributions and dedication. Jayden has been an integral part of Parawest for nearly six years, marking a significant journey from her beginnings as an AP Specialist to her current role as Accounting Manager, a position she has held for the past two years.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Jayden’s life centers around her family and beloved pets, who she affectionately refers to as her "absolute heart." When not with them, she indulges in her passion for movies and books, particularly favoring rom-coms and sci-fi genres. A true nature enthusiast, Jayden frequently escapes to the mountains for fishing and sightseeing adventures.
Jayden also boasts a remarkable commitment to animal welfare, having cared for a diverse array of creatures including ball pythons, corn snakes, leopard geckos, chameleons, axolotls, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, and of course, dogs and cats. Her dedication to animal advocacy extends beyond personal care; Jayden once operated her own business dedicated to rescuing and promoting safe breeding practices for African Pygmy Hedgehogs.

Congratulations to Rachel Sabori on receiving the Parawest Spotlight of Excellence award! Rachel is the Community Manager for San Remo Apartments in Tucson, Arizona. Born in Tucson when dirt roads were still commonplace, Rachel's roots run deep in her community. Despite facing setbacks, such as being laid off after six years at Burr Brown, Rachel's determination shone through. She turned adversity into opportunity when her property manager offered her a job as a leasing agent, eventually ascending to the role of manager overseeing a team of seven. For 36 years, Rachel has thrived in management, demonstrating a passion for her work that is truly commendable. Joining the Parawest family ten years ago, Rachel has continued to excel, bringing her wealth of experience and commitment to her role. She consistently maintains high occupancy and she closes at zero delinquency month after month. Beyond her professional achievements, Rachel's love for horses, instilled by her father during her upbringing on a ranch, speaks to her enduring connection to nature and hard work. In her leisure time, Rachel finds joy in spending time with her grandchildren, engaging in activities like boxing, dancing, and games.
