We don’t get to many evenings together where we can just be a family. Even though we spend a lot of time together. Some form of work usually envelopes us till we go to sleep. And that is ok. It is by choice. But when we get the opportunity to get out and have a long, nice meal together (when I don’t have to cook 😂). We take it in.

What a great evening spend celebrating moms birthday and mom and dads 59th wedding anniversary. Especially at one of our favorite Houston locations.

I’ll take the memories and time when I’m able to receive them. Full heart, soul and belly this evening. Happy Birthday mom ❤️❤️❤️, and happy anniversary mom and dad ❤️❤️❤️. I love you both to the stars and back again.

What a major milestone today. I am often reminded how God is present in my life every minute, hour, day and week. A wonderful example of this is my stunning mom. So a HUGE Happy birthday mom! Thank you for all that you do! You continue to give relentless amount of love to each person you come into contact with. I’m always in awe of you! Each day I become a better son and man because of your endless love and support.

From the bottom of my heart. Happy Birthday! Thank you for everything!

Also a huge happy 57th wedding anniversary to both of my stunning parents! WOW, 57 years of marriage!

When Kerri lived with us in Edmond, Oklahoma. I didn’t understand the magnitude after her historic 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Helping secure a bronze medal for the woman’s United States team.

After Barcelona, there was very few Olympic elite coaches in the United States. One of them was Steve Nuno. In Edmond, Oklahoma. Which is where I also trained at the time. Kerri embraced my family and I, and we embraced her. She was the long lost daughter my mom never had. Her parents, Bert and Melanie Strug were the epitome of good parents.

I remember one evening that is embedded in my mind. Kerri had a rough day at practice. I was sick and at home. And she had just got her license. She looked up at Mom and said, “Miss Gayle, can we please go get Steve some popsicles, I think it will make his throat feel better.”

I’ll never forget the two years she live with us. She tumbled with me, taught me how to do a backhand spring step out correctly, whip backs and a full-in into the pit. I would always stay after her workouts because many of the gymnast parents would do carpools together. We all lived close by. One evening I was sitting in the back with Kerri, and Shannon. I’m a small adolescent, dumb boy with a little bit of talent. And had no idea I was setting in between two of the greatest Olympic champions in the history of the Olympics.

We are seeing a larger demand for one story homes. Many families are consolidating and moving in together. We did this a few years ago and can understand the reasons behind this as well.

We are also seeing builders take notice of this, something they have failed to do in years past. Lately we have been working with a few international families and a few that are local. For all of them, the one story takes precedence over anything else. Even location and drive times to and from work (I definitely understand this as well also). After showing many, stand out one stories these families the last few months, and living in one myself. There are definitely advantages to them.

So I ask you, would you be willing to give up location, convenience to purchase your ideal/dream home? Many families are starting to ask themself these same questions for longer term home ownership.

Had a great 4th with our small family. The downtime WAS needed. One of the best 4th of July weekends I’ve had in a very long time. Had filets with lobster and Bernaise sauce, homemade mashed, country green beans and some creamy horse radish.

Back to work tomorrow and the start of a very long week. Showings, closings and private drives all ahead. Hope this 4th of July weekend has treated you all well my friends. Much love and always peace to you all ❤️🙏🏻😘💪🏻

Had a good day today. Was time to get back on the saddle and get to work with some wonderful, long term clients and friends we have had for decades now. They are relocating from The Heights to somewhere on the northside of Houston. Question is where? After showing 13 homes today. They are narrowing it down. We showed some beauties today. Including this looker.

Thank the lord for my mother to get my mind back in gear. Keep close to your “tribe”, family and friends. They are the best medicine for life❤️.

Something different for dinner. Spanish Carabineros (prawns), escargot 🐌 and seasoned rice. Simple and easy. This hit the right spot!

When’s the last time you had escargot? They were delish! And widely considered a super food 😉

Movie with the prince of the house and off to bed early. Long day of showings tomorrow. Hope this week is treating you all well. Much love and always peace to you all my friends 🙏🏻💪🏻❤️😘

Had a wonderful and much needed dinner with my stunning patents. Celebrated an early Mother’s Day and a belated birthday. Finally took some time off after work today and had dinner at one of our favorite places: The Capital Grille, Westheimer (The Galleria). Of course filet 🥩 was the choice. How could you not with one of the best known establishments over the last 40 years in Houston??

Happy Mother’s Day, mom. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for our small family. God knew what he was doing when he placed me with you. Could not think of a better gift in my life than to call you, mom. I would be completely and utterly lost without you. I’ll love you forever ❤️❤️
