It features 192 garden-style units with a mix of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, totaling 198,588 square feet of living space, along with a 3,896 square-foot clubhouse!

Last week, members of our team had the opportunity to attend LP’s Architectural Symposium alongside architects from across the country, many of whom specialize in multifamily design. Over three days, we participated in thoughtful conversations centered around the evolving needs of our industry and the future of building materials.

Through a series of panel discussions, we explored what architects are truly looking for in wall systems today. What made these conversations especially valuable was the shared understanding that successful design requires collaboration between architects, developers, contractors, and manufacturers at every stage of a project.

We also toured a project utilizing LP materials and saw firsthand the level of support their team provides throughout the construction process, including installer training, quality assurance, and design implementation.

The symposium also featured insightful keynote presentations from:

• Christine Williamson, AIA (), who spoke on architectural risk in residential and commercial construction.

• Andre Baros of Acelab, who challenged attendees to embrace innovation by reminding us that many materials and design ideas considered “standard” today were once viewed as impossible.

We’re grateful to Daniella Espinoza for the invitation and for organizing such a meaningful event. Opportunities like this allow us to continue learning, exchanging ideas, and bringing valuable insights back to our projects and clients!

Our team was honored to attend Houston’s Design Gala celebrating 40 years of impact by the Architecture Houston Foundation.

The evening celebrated the power of design, community, and the role architecture has and continues to play in shaping Houston’s cultural landscape. We were delighted to connect with fellow industry professionals and support programs that bring architecture to the public through exhibitions, tours, and community events.

Affordable housing development across Texas continues to evolve as developers, investors, contractors, and housing organizations adapt to changing financial and regulatory conditions.

While demand for affordable and workforce housing remains strong throughout the state, recent legislative updates, tighter financing conditions, and rising development costs are reshaping how many projects are being planned and structured moving forward.

The multifamily industry is entering a period of adjustment that is creating new conversations across Texas real estate and construction markets, particularly surrounding Tax Credit projects, HUD developments, and Housing Finance Corporation (HFC) partnerships.

Affordable housing development in Texas is continuing to evolve, and recent law changes are creating new conversations across the multifamily industry. 🏘️

Developers working on Tax Credit, HUD, and Affordable Housing projects are paying close attention to financing challenges, changing loan conditions, and updates surrounding property tax exemptions tied to Housing Finance Corporation (HFC) partnerships.

One major shift came with Texas House Bill 21, enacted in 2025, which changed how certain affordable housing projects qualify for property tax exemptions and impacts how some developments structure deals moving forward.

As financing becomes more difficult and regulations become more complex, many industry professionals are beginning to explore whether smaller, strategically planned projects may become a more practical path for development in today’s market.

At the same time, major multifamily markets like Houston, Dallas, Austin, Orlando, and Phoenix continue attracting national investment and development attention, showing that long-term housing demand remains strong despite changing regulations and lending conditions.
