The National Hurricane Center has warned that the system is expected to bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, and potentially life-threatening flooding across a large portion of the Gulf Coast and Southeast, including the Houston area.

As our area continues to monitor the current storm, now is a great time to take a few minutes to review your family's preparedness plan. Here are a few things you can start with.

REMEMBER: Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to Nov. 30, although tropical storm and hurricane activity usually peaks between August and October.
