I decided to get a Prenuvo full-body scan.
The thought really started after a blood test came back with a result my doctor considered āalarming.ā I had an ultrasound of the organ they associate with that elevated level, and thankfully, everything looked normal. But hearing, āSomething is wrong, we just donāt know what,ā didnāt exactly leave me feeling reassured.
I also had a few other symptoms that didnāt have clear answers. After several tests, blood work, and more questions than answers, I found myself wanting to take a little more control of my own health.
I had seen Prenuvo through social media and had heard about its ability to take a detailed look throughout the body. Then, one night at dinner, a friend mentioned that her sister had gone and was so thankful she did. I took that as my sign.
Was I nervous? Absolutely. Thereās something a little unsettling about knowing youāre about to have your entire body looked at so closely. Part of me was scared of what they might find.
But honestly, the unknown was more nerve-wracking.
I wanted this scan to either give me peace of mind that nothing major was going on or give me some direction if something was. For me, it felt like a way to be proactive and advocate for myself.
Is it expensive? Yes. But when I added up the cost of the ultrasounds and multiple rounds of blood work I had already had, along with wondering how many more tests might be needed, the cost felt much easier to justify. You can also choose to scan just certain areas rather than your entire body, but I decided to do the full-body scan.
The experience itself was honestly so seamless. From the beginning, I had someone assigned specifically to me who was available for questions and made sure they had a thorough understanding of my health and family history. Everyone at the Westheimer location was incredibly welcoming; they even came out to the garage to greet me.
The scan itself took about an hour and a half, and I got to watch Netflix the whole time. Naturally, I picked Suits and started with Season 2.
About 10 days later, I received my results. The report was incredibly detailed, with images included, and everything had been reviewed by a radiologist and oncologist. Thankfully, overall, everything looked good.
And honestly, that peace of mind was what I was hoping for.
I also appreciated that I can reach back out with questions or discuss any of the recommendations instead of just receiving a report and being left to figure it out on my own.
I do plan to go back annually. For me, this was less about being afraid something was wrong and more about being proactive and having more information about my own body.
