My life has been full of twists, turns, unexpected detours, and more crazy moments than I could ever count. But through it all, being your mom has been one of the greatest blessings and the best thing that has ever happened to me.
When I tell you we’ve had every odd stacked against us, I mean it.
At 18 years old, I was a brand-new mom with a newborn baby, graduating high school and moving 600 miles away from my family with no idea what the hell I was doing. Within just a few short months, I had a baby, graduated, turned 18, and started a completely new chapter of life. It was hard.
Before we knew it, we were moving back to Texas from California—just you and me—trying to figure it all out as we went. That’s where we started our life all over again.
Somehow, together, we made it. Looking back, I don’t think we did so bad.
Baby girl, thank you for growing up with me. We were both learning life together, trying to find our way while building a future from scratch. Through every challenge, every tear, every victory, it has always been you and me.
No matter how old you get, you will always be that tiny little girl in my eyes.
I hope you continue to blossom into the incredible young woman I already know you are. Chase your dreams, believe in yourself, and never forget where you came from. And if life ever knocks you down, I promise I’ll always be there to help you back up.
I couldn’t be prouder to be your mom. I love you forever, baby girl. ❤️
