Melodie has been with Barnett Real Estate for more than three years, and I’m so grateful to have her as part of our business. She first came to Barnett Real Estate through my sister, Brittany Barnett McReynolds. The two were Kappa Delta sorority sisters at Texas A&M University and both found their passion for real estate after graduation.

Before becoming a full-time educator, Melodie spent three years in commercial real estate with Newmark Knight Frank, gaining valuable experience at one of the industry’s leading commercial real estate firms. That foundation, combined with her passion for serving others, has allowed her to build a strong client base in both commercial and residential real estate.

Brittany has been part of real estate her entire life. We grew up watching our dad build and lead his brokerage for more than 40 years, so it's safe to say real estate has always been in our blood.

After graduating from Texas A&M University in 2006, Brittany jumped straight into the industry, spending nearly a decade working alongside one of the top-producing agents in the Houston Heights, one of the most competitive and fast-paced real estate markets in Texas. Have you ever heard The House That Built Me by Miranda Lambert? Well... this is mine.🩵

This is Dot and Vic's house.

I grew up visiting this Caldwell corner lot, picking pecans from the trees that are still standing in the yard and sitting out front with my grandfather, Vic, shelling them. When my mom walked back through the house years later, she remembered the first time my Dad, Jonnie Vic, brought her there to meet the family. She could still picture Dot in the kitchen making her famous blonde brownies with the very pecans we had shelled together.

For more than 40 years, my Dad, Jonnie Vic, and his sister, Patti, rented this home to the same family. When it was finally time to sell, I had the privilege of helping my own family through the process.

Walking through those rooms with my Dad and Aunt Patti after all those years was something words can hardly describe. Helping them sell a home that holds so many memories for our family will always be one of the most cherished moments of my real estate career.
