After 368 days, Lady finally found her person.

Lady arrived at Citizens for Animal Protection at just 3 months old. For more than a year, she watched other dogs find their families while she patiently waited for hers.

As her one-year anniversary at CAP approached, we gave Lady a special day out to show everyone the sweet, playful dog we knew and loved. She played ball, went shopping, enjoyed a pup cup and chicken nuggets, and even joined a CAP team meeting. We shared her adventure on social media, hoping the right person would see it.
And he did.

Lady’s future dad saw the video and came to meet her. On August 31, 2026, after 368 days at CAP, Lady was adopted.
As she was leaving, Lady spotted her new dad and immediately began pulling her adoption counselor toward him.
After waiting so long, Lady knew exactly where she belonged.

Lady’s story got its happy ending, but many other animals at CAP are still waiting for theirs. If you’re considering adding a pet to your family, consider adoption—you might just be the person they’ve been waiting for.

Miss Peck went missing from Tanglewood the evening of 9/6. She has a gold ID bracelet with a phone number. She may or maybe still be wearing her flowered flyper. She was hand raised and has always lived indoors. Her family is devastated without her.
