Spending so much time in beautiful homes across Houston, you start to notice the details that never go out of style.

For me, soft blue hues are one of them.

These spaces by Oyster Creek Studios are a perfect example of why. From painted cabinetry and patterned wallpaper to tailored upholstery, tile, and millwork, these lighter shades have a way of bringing warmth, character, and a sense of calm to a home.

I recently came across Veranda’s feature on the history of “haint blue,” the iconic Southern porch ceiling color. What began as a centuries-old tradition has evolved into one of the most enduring influences in Southern design, and it’s easy to see why.

What I love most about these spaces is how effortlessly they balance color and pattern. Each room feels unique, yet the overall design remains classic and approachable.

Spending so much time in beautiful homes across Houston, you start to notice the details that never go out of style.

For me, soft blue hues are one of them.

Our team recently created a moodboard featuring some of our favorite ways to incorporate these lighter shades, from cabinetry and wallpaper to fabrics, lighting, and architectural details. No matter the home or design style, soft blues always seem to find their place.

A friend casually mentioned she was considering a move and asked what I thought her home might be worth. Knowing how special this Briargrove home was and having a pulse on what buyers are actively looking for, I immediately thought of an agent who had shared that she was working with buyers hoping to find a home in the neighborhood.

One showing later, we had a contract.
