Do this simple DIY and add a ton of value to your property.

This was probably the least complicated, doable in a day DIY project.

Perfect for beginners.

Start with this one and you will gain enough confidence to start your next! :)

For me, the front flowerbeds will remain a work in progress for sometime. Adding new plants as we go! You could get it done and dusted at once or be like me - keep it an 'open garden'.

The best way to keep the weeds out is by filling up your flowerbeds with plants so the seeds don't land.

That's my end goal. :)

DM "Upgrades" To get a list of "right" upgrades that are timeless and add value.

Project #2

Problem: The street-side of the house looks blah. The flowerbed is successfully growing only weeds. Previously planted roses were hard to tend since there was no walkway.

Solution: Redefine the flowerbed, beautify the street-side of the house. Add a gravel path to walk and tend the plants growing in the flowerbed.

Ex*****on:
I was quoted in the upwards of $3300 to add a gravel path with pavers and an edger to keep the flowerbed and the walkway seperated.
Plants, mulch or outdoor lights NOT included in the quotes.

DIY: It cost me less than $300 and I was able to add a few new plants, solar pathway lights and mulch!

If that's not called winning, I don't know what is!

My first landscaping DIY project looks so much better than what I had imagined! And it cost me a fraction of the cost quoted by the landscapers.

Problem:
Every time we would get down from the car we would accidentally either step on an ant hill or wet soaking grass. After having bit multiple times, I knew we needed to do something about it.

Solution:
We needed a wider driveway so that we didn't have to step on the grass.
Pouring concrete would had been possible but I think its a lousy looking option. I needed something that would be aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Ex*****on:
I called a few landscaping companies and they quoted me a whopping $1600- $2000 for exactly getting this done. 🀯

DIY:
To figure out why would it cost so much since we are not adding any new plumbing, electrical etc.,
I did a material cost analysis. I figured I will save a ton if I do it myself! The savings definitely motivated me because I knew the ROI on this project was not more than the cost of it if I hired someone. Heena Chow, Realtor #
