Born in Norman, Oklahoma, Joanne's aeronautical engineer father's work took the family to Ohio, California, Louisiana and Texas and she added Hawaii to that list on her own. Over the years, she earned a BA and MA in Sociology from the University of Houston and she has enjoyed teaching at the community college level. Her career has primarily taken place in the US Space program, where she worked in configuration management, security and international compliance. Her position included significant international travel including trips to Russia and South America. She has also worked in compliance in the oil industry. A lover of the outdoors, Joanne also fishes and hunts – and keeps busy indoors knitting and crafting. Joanne is also an advocate for women in sailing and heads up events to support sailing at all levels in the Houston area. She gets tremendous satisfaction from her volunteer work with Special Olympics sailors and Women's Sailing Associations. A blended family, Joanne and Ken have a total of five grown children, four in Houston and one in Atlanta. The enthusiasm Joanne brings to her diverse interests is evident in her passion for all things real estate.
