I've lived in Houston long enough to have opinions.
Opinions about which coffee shop has the best iced latte. Which patio you want on a Friday night. Where to stand for the fireworks. Where to take out-of-town family when they actually want to be impressed.
This is the stuff you don't get from a Google search.
This is the stuff you only know if you've lived a few summers here.
So I put it all in one place.
Swipe through for my Hometown Summer List → the unofficial bucket list of everything that makes summer in Houston feel like summer →
A few rules:
→ It's meant to be shared. If you've got a spot I missed, drop it in the comments.
→ It's meant to be DONE. Pick three. Do them this month.
→ It's meant to be lived slowly. The best summers here aren't the ones we sprinted through.
Tag me when you check one off — I want to see your summer.
New in town? Comment LOCAL, and I'll send
you my full Houston guide.
Save this. Share it with a neighbor. See you on a patio somewhere.

Memorial Day weekend is almost here 🇺🇸

I put together a simple Houston Memorial Day Weekend Guide with local ceremonies, family-friendly ideas, BBQ spots, ice cream stops, and a quick backyard-ready checklist for the long weekend.

Before the BBQs and summer fun, we remember the real reason for this day — honoring the men and women who gave everything.

Feel free to save it, share it, and use it for your weekend plans. ❤️

There’s a poem in a movie I quote way too often.
It starts with «I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair…» and ends with «But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you. Not even close. Not even a little. Not even at all.»
That’s honestly how I feel about real estate.
I love this industry. I love what a good listing can do for a family — the equity it unlocks, the next chapter it funds, the relief of finally being able to move forward.
But I’d be lying if I said there aren’t things about how some homes get listed that drive me absolutely crazy.
So in honor of the greatest monologue in 90s romcom history — here’s my version.
10 Things I Hate (About How Most Homes Get
Listed).
And more importantly, what to ask your agent so none of this happens to your house.
Swipe through for the full list →
Here’s the truth most people don’t realize: the difference between a home that sells in 7 days at top dollar and one that sits for 90 and gets reduced twice is almost never the house itself. It’s the strategy behind it. The photos. The pricing. The plan
for week 2 and week 4. The conversations that happen BEFORE the sign goes in the yard.
Want my full guide — 10 Questions to Ask Before You Hire a Listing Agent? It’s the exact list I’d hand my own brother if he were interviewing agents.
Comment LIST and I’ll send it over.

Today, the champagne is not just for a closing.

I waited for this sale for a very, very long time, and it has meant so much more to me than just another transaction, another client, or another house.

These sellers are very dear to me. They are my wonderful friends, and somehow we have been able to combine friendship and business in the best possible way — with trust, respect, patience, honesty, and a lot of care. I am deeply grateful to them for that, because this kind of relationship is never something I take for granted.

The house itself was special too. Warm, beautiful, full of character, and truly loved. It waited a long time for the right new owners, the kind of people who would see more than walls, a roof, and square footage. The kind of people who would understand that this was a place for life, family, quiet evenings, celebrations, conversations, and all the small everyday moments that slowly turn a house into a home.

Today, my sellers said goodbye to this home with a little sadness, of course, and I understood every bit of it. Every home carries a story. A few precious pages from someone’s life. Memories, laughter, worries, holidays, morning coffee, guests, plans, and all those little family moments that never make it into an MLS description, even though they are the real soul of the home.

We are letting it go with a peaceful heart, because I truly believe the new owners will be happy there. They will care for it, love it, and begin writing their own beautiful story inside those walls.

I am grateful today for the trust, the patience, the friendship, and the journey we walked together. This closing feels like more than a signature on paper. It feels like the quiet certainty that everything happened exactly the way it was supposed to.

Tomorrow I’m hosting an open house… with fresh pancakes and hot tea 🥞☕️
It’s inspired by Maslenitsa (a tradition where you welcome guests with pancakes + jam).
Because home tours should feel cozy, smell amazing, and come with snacks.

📍 5006 Lymbar Drive
⏰ 1 pm - 3 pm
🍓 Pancakes + jam + tea while they last

Come say hi — even if you’re “just browsing.”
(Pancakes count as a valid reason.)
