🚨 SCAM ALERT! PLEASE SHARE! 🚨
Y’all, I just received a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Polk County Courthouse, telling me I had missed jury duty TODAY and that a judge had issued THREE citations totaling $3,000!
They told me I had two options: get on a Zoom call with the judge or go to court, and that I would have to pay 10% of the amount.
I’m not going to lie, this call was ALARMING! They sounded convincing enough that they actually had me questioning myself for a moment!
But here’s where it got interesting. I told him, “Have the judge send me the citations, and I’ll deal with it when I go to court.”
HE HUNG UP ON ME! 🤦♀️
📞 This is the number they called me from: (936) 393-9262. Keep in mind, scammers can spoof phone numbers, so the number displayed may not actually belong to the person calling.
Please be careful! These people use fear and intimidation to make you believe you’re in legal trouble, hoping you’ll panic and send them money.
If you receive a call like this, hang up and contact the courthouse directly through an official phone number. Don’t give them money or personal information!
I’m sharing this because it really caught me off guard, and I don’t want someone else falling for it.
