Wells Fargo announced it will now offer mortgages on homes built by Icon, an Austin, TX, company that uses a giant robotic printer to build homes out of layered concrete, and will give buyers a 0.5% discount on their loan when they use its mortgage products.

VA Loan Myth: “VA loans take too long to close.”

This one needs to retire.

A VA loan does not automatically mean a slower closing. Most delays come from the same things that slow down any mortgage: missing documents, appraisal timing, underwriting conditions, repairs, title issues, or poor communication.

The key is preparation.

A strong VA buyer should have:

âś… A solid pre-approval
âś… Certificate of Eligibility handled early
âś… Income and asset documents ready
âś… A lender who actually understands VA loans
âś… An agent who knows how to present the offer properly

Sellers, don’t overlook a VA offer just because someone told you it is “harder.” That buyer may be more prepared than the conventional buyer next to them.

Veterans earned this benefit. The least we can do is understand it correctly.
