If your algorithm has been showing you people from other countries coming to the US for the World Cup and having the time of their lives, same here. We already loved our city, but seeing it through their eyes has made us appreciate it even more, and grateful we get to call Houston home.

Reasons living in Houston is better than people think:

1. Yes, the cost of living has gone up, but there's still real opportunity here to own a home and still have room to travel and enjoy life. Houston has always been a solid home base for us.

2. Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country, so you can find a little bit of everything here. Our food and hospitality scene is top notch and holds its own against any major city.

3. Houston is a true global city, between the Texas Medical Center, NASA, and a job market spanning energy, healthcare, and tech, there's opportunity here no matter what field you're in. And with one of the busiest airports in the country, you're never far from anywhere in the world.

If you're thinking about calling Houston home, let's chat. Schedule a discovery call with us via the link in bio and we'll talk through whether it's the right fit for you.

Bar Daphne just opened inside Hotel Daphne in the Heights and we stopped in for drinks before heading to dinner at Hypsi. The space is beautifully decorated, the drinks are great, and we are already looking forward to coming back with friends and making this a regular spot.

If you are looking for somewhere new for cocktails in the Heights, this one is worth checking out.

This 1958 ranch-style home in Spring Branch had a lot going for it. Great bones, great location. But a hydrostatic inspection revealed a leak in the original cast iron sewer lines, and the buyers came back with a $20K+ repair quote demanding it be fixed before closing.

We called our trusted plumber, got the repair done for $3K less than the quoted price, pulled the proper permits, and wrapped the whole job in under a week, well before closing day.

Just when we thought we were in the clear, the universe had one more surprise for us. The night before closing, during the buyers' final walkthrough, a leak showed up at the refrigerator water line supply valve. Because why not.

We called our plumber at 5:30pm. He showed up, fixed it, and we closed without a hitch.

If you're buying or selling in Houston and want someone in your corner who knows how to handle the unexpected (and apparently the very last minute), let's talk. 🤝

If you want to survive a Houston summer like a local, these are non negotiable:

1. Always check the weather before making outdoor plans. Sunny at noon, thunderstorm by 3pm is peak Houston behavior.
2. Never trust the ETA on maps. If you’re crossing town, add at least 15 extra minutes for traffic.
3. If you’re sitting outside after sunset and forgot bug spray… thoughts and prayers.
4. Scheduling plans at 5pm across town on a weekday? Respectfully… why.
5. If you’re doing anything outdoors, hydration is not optional.
6. AC to AC is the official Houston summer lifestyle. 🚗❄️🏠

Some of our favorite listings on the market right now and they are all under $500k. Three different neighborhoods, three solid options worth a serious look. Houston is still delivering when it comes to value and we love to see it.

All three of these are listed by agents in our office and we love having the opportunity to help get the word out. If you or someone you know is in the market, these are worth a look. Comment “HOMES” for the full list.
