We’re sending our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and fans of Angela Stribling, who passed away at the age of 58 following a two-year battle with brain cancer.

Angela was a beloved voice and presence in television, radio and music for decades. Many knew her from her time on BET, where she hosted “Screen Scene” and later helped launch BET Jazz, hosting shows including “Jazz Central,” “BET Jazz Discovery” and “BET Jazz Scene.”

She also made an incredible impact in radio through WHUR, hosting “Pillow Talk With Angela” and becoming the first woman to host the station’s legendary “Original Quiet Storm.”

Outside of broadcasting, Angela was an accomplished jazz vocalist who performed across the United States, Europe and Africa, sharing the stage with artists including Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan.

Her voice also became synonymous with the Black Engineer of the Year Awards, where she served as the voice of the ceremony for more than three decades.

Angela leaves behind a powerful legacy and countless people who were touched by her talent, warmth and presence.

We’re keeping her loved ones in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Angela Stribling. 🕊️
