Sometimes falling back in love with your house doesn’t take much. We love the way this client took their main floor half bath up a notch by making a few simple changes. Spaces you visit often: think laundry, main baths, closets… are often overlooked. But if you really think about how often you visit these spaces, it makes sense to invest in making them places you enjoy.

While we’ve taken a break from working for others, we’ve not stopped working on things for ourselves. We purchased a little place in Ludington on Hamlin Lake. It had all been recently redone. New roof, siding, windows, and new interior. Sounds turn key - right? Haha! Have you met me? Shawn (and Elyse) and my dad tore out the pantry and a few other things while I was in quarantine. Today (two days after my break free day) we added some texture to the wall and updated the peninsula. She gets painted next week. Can’t wait to show you!

Currently taking suggestions on how to cover up these holes in the floor 😱

Sometimes I have practical ideas. And other times I have ideas that make Shawn go 🤨. So when I said I wanted a work bench like my great grandpa had to use as a kitchen island in the basement I was met with a stern 🤨.

My great grandpa made hundreds of cradles. It was so special. He turned the spindles and everything. I have the 200th cradle at my house.

Slowly but surely Shawn came around. And guys!
L 🤩🤩K!!!! She’s so pretty. The table (obviously).

I’m so excited to give her a light sanding and some wipe on poly and introduce her to her new home!

Guys. Look at our sauna. We’ve been using it a few times a week now. And before we just had two old wooden chairs in there while we were waiting. And you guys! THIS WAS WORTH THE WAIT! Carpenters are artists. And I’m not interested in anyone trying to change my mind. I’m pinching myself that this is our house.

Getting close to the finish line. Hours spent looking how to furnish this space. Urbanwalls makes some really cute and modern vinyl wall clings. They are easy to put up and even easier to take down (unlike wallpaper- and I have a MAJOR love of wallpaper too) we’ve used these in our sons room as well, and recently took them down after being up for two years. But these simple graphics made this spacepop!

This is the definition of “cart before the horse.” Still installing flooring but I HAD to see how my pillows would look. I’m also wearing pants, not leggings, a shirt with buttons, not a work out top, curled hair, not a pony tail, and (minimal) make-up. Like I’m a big deal or something. I felt if my space was going to dress up I should too!
