1. You need a relocation timeline not just a move date.
Out-of-state and international moves typically require 6–12 months of coordination, even for decisive buyers.
2. Documentation requirements are different when you’re relocating.
Employment letters, proof of income, visas, residency status, and foreign assets often require extra verification and lead time.
3. School enrollment and records must be transferred early.
Many districts won’t finalize placement without transcripts, immunization records, and testing — some have hard cutoffs.
4. Banking and credit logistics may need to be set up in advance.
Out-of-country or cross-border buyers often need U.S.-based accounts, credit history, or additional approvals before closing.
5. You need local coordination for things you can’t attend in person.
Inspections, walk-throughs, repairs, utility setup, and access all need on-the-ground oversight.
