Well, we warned you all that something big was coming. We are excited to announce that we have submitted all of the paperwork and are currently pending approval for non-profit status for The Hunker Bunker Project.
It is 2022. We are facing rampant depletion of natural resources. We are facing record prices of life-sustaining utilities and products. Real estate prices have doubled (or more) in the last two years. Part of our goal when we started this project was bigger than ourselves. It was to set out to prove that affordable housing is not a myth - that everybody could own housing who wanted to and that there had to be an efficient means to accomplish this. This status will allow us to apply for grants and focus on the research. (The donations of funds raised will be used for the research purposes connected to this concept, not the living expenses or for personal asset growth.)
Most of you know that I am working in my PhD and one thing that this has shown me is the extreme lack of research being done in certain areas and sustainability js one of those areas. We intend to multiply the amount of work being done on sustainable, affordable and efficient housing.
This is a big step. Thank you for coming along for the journey.
