Saw this and had a good chuckle….not far off. Maybe a few items missing from the reality list though 😳

What people think buying a house looks like:

Find a house on Zillow
Tour it on Saturday
Make an offer
Close in 30 days
Post the keys on Instagram

What actually happens:

Get pre-approved.
Find out you qualify for less than you thought
Search for 4 months.
Fall in love with 6 houses you can't afford
Write an offer.
Lose to cash
Write another offer.
Lose to an escalation clause you didn't know existed
Finally get one accepted.
Inspector finds a cracked foundation
Back to square one
Your lease is up in 60 days
Your agent is texting you listings at 6am because she knows you're panicking
You settle for the house that checks 7 of your 12 boxes
Close 11 days late because the lender needed one more document
Get the keys

No Instagram post. Just relief

That's homebuying in 2026.
